Swami Brahmapadananda Saraswathy - heads Ashram
A favourite of every one and a long time associate of Swamiji, commonly
referred to as Potti Swami by all devotees is now the head of Ashram .
Sree Krishnan Potti, eldest
son of Sree Perinjal Maheshwaran
Namboothiri and Sreemathi Nangeli Antharjanan was born on 23 Nov 1949
at Trichur. After Upanayanam at the age of 5, Potti Swami learned Vedas
and
Sanskrit according to Gurukula sampradayam. Did Samavruttam and learned
tantric and other theological studies under the guidance of able
scholars like Puthumana Kuzhipallil Sreedharan Namboothiri, Kuzhipallil
Vallabhan Namboothiri and Koottumadam Manackal Vasudevan Namboothiri.
After completing his batchelors in Mathematics from Trichur learned the
basics of Homeopathy and Ayurveda along with his vivid interest in
temple and pooja activties. After meeting poojya Swamiji H H Swami
Sathyananda Saraswathy thiruvadikal
in 1981 at the age of 32, he joined Ashram and lived in Checnkottukonam
Ashram ever
since. Following Swamiji's Maha Samadhi in 2006, Potti swami took
Sanyasa with
the name Swami Brahmapadananda Saraswathy.
Sree Sathyananda–Sree Rama Ratha Yatra. With
the blessings of Brahmasree Neelakanta Gurupadar and Jagad Guru Swami
Sathyananda Saraswathy Thrippadangal, this year’s Sree Rama Navami
Mahotsavam is scheduled to begin on the 3rd of April 2009.
This year the Rama Ratha Yathra starts on the 15th of March from the
holy temple of Jagathambika of Kollur as in the previous years.
Spreading the message of Ramayana across the length and breadth of
Kerala the Ratham will rach Kanyakumari on the 31st of March 2009. The
Ratham visits all the centers of Rama Leela. After participating the
Paduka Samarpanam on the 3rd of April when the Ratham reaches Ashramam
there will be Abhishekam in the Ratham.
Sree Rama Navami Celebrations for 12 days from 3rd of April to 14th of April this year. This includes Rama
Leela Festivals for 6 days in Trivandrum city and around Chenkottukonam
Ashramam. Sree Ramayana Navaha Yajnam for 9 days and Mahalakshmi
pooja. The Celebrations conclude with an Arat at Panimoola Devi Temple
on the 14th of April.
